This book is an in-depth reading about the causes and consequences of prejudice, and a lengthy study on the role of minorities in the social structure of the United States of America. It also examines the relationships between different society groups, and how these relationships affect their members. As expected, this was an informative and well-explained read; the authors--both Ph.D. holders with impressive resumes and years of experience in sociology and anthropology research—do a very good job at elaborating on the social injustice that certain groups experienced in the US, mainly in the mid-1900s. The book exemplifies in detail about different types of social injustice acts, and studies each separately for each minority group, which in my opinion works well in establishing its credibility and supporting its claims. Reading this book gave me a deeper understanding of prejudice, and how it is different when considered on a personal, group, or social level. Also, the objectivity of the book and well-written analysis get the reader to evaluate his or her part of the problem or the solution, which is precisely the goal of analyzing such social phenomenon:
